Who are we?
youpan is a youth forum with 30 members aged between 16 and 27 from all over Germany. We participate in the realisation of the National Action Plan on ESD in manifold ways. This means that we – together with many experts – work to ensure that education in Germany becomes Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Our aim is to make other young people aware of ESD and youth participation.
What does youpan do?
- We have a say in the ESD national platform and its forums,
- give workshops at ESD-related events,
- advise organisations and political decision-makers,
- plan our own projects in the context of ESD,
- publish demands and statements regarding ESD and youth participation and
- support other young people to get involved and make their voices be heard.
Children and adolescents must be involved [in the implementation of ESD] so that the younger generation has an active part in shaping the present and the future.

The process of youth participation is accompanied by the youpan office at Stiftung Bildung and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Learn more about youth participation in the German ESD process.
